MoCA is doing a remarkable work towards development of airports in smaller cities and airlines are getting business with providing connectivity to bigger hubs. We always try to raise issues of the industry which matters for the development of the aviation sector and highlight critical aspects of the same. I extend my sincere thank to all the esteemed guest writers for taking out time and contributing features with us. In this edition, various features are published which makes the content again high value. It was a very fruitful visit and positive synergies were developed which can be taken forward to next level where Aviation World can actively participate. Recently, I visited Moscow on the invitation of Indian Business Alliance, Russia and participated at ”Heli-Russia 2022” and interacted with few aviation company representatives. The July-August 22 edition of Front cover also highlights the major event with prominence for our readers. Aviation World is participating as media at FIA22 and looking forward to meet various exhibitors and actively network for some valuable contents and inside stores. Due to Covid outbreak, 2020 edition was cancelled and the return this year carries greater significance as the first major event to reconnect delegates from around the world, enabling business growth and recovery. It is good to see that Farnborough Airshow 2022 (FIA22) is back with a bang this year from July 18-22 with the theme “Pioneer the future- Discover the future of aerospace”. The imported aircraft was provided a tax-free landing by the SEZ in Nagpur on Thursday, following which it was flown to Delhi to be delivered to Indo Pacific Aviation, which is an arm of JetSetGo. Furthermore, we are planning to bring in at least six aircrafts by the end of 2021-22, and by the end of 2022, we will also look at leasing planes to international locations.” With this initiative, we want to ensure that the leasing of aircrafts becomes feasible in India. We are thrilled to have been able to do this as it is a step forward towards putting India on the global aviation map and enabling many industry-firsts going forward. This is not just a big milestone for us as a business, but also a historic move for India’s aviation industry as a whole. Kanika Tekriwal, Founder & CEO, JetSetGo Aviation said, “With the import of the Hawker 800 XP, we are extremely proud to be the first Indian leasing company to bring an aircraft into the country directly. In addition to this, JetSetGo is also looking into revenue-sharing arrangements. Under this model, the Company gets compensated based on how much the aircraft flies. To lease out the aircraft, the Company is experimenting with a novel financing strategy wherein JetSetGo plans on using the ‘pay-as-you-go’ arrangement. This transaction is being hailed as the country’s first-ever after the Ministry of Finance established a framework for Aircraft Leasing and Tax SOPS were granted, to shift the leasing business from Ireland or other locations to Indian Territories. This aircraft was brought into the SEZ for the purpose of leasing, promoting MRO and offering other ancillary services in the region. Parking and warehousing services were provided by Air India MRO. JetSetFleet Management Services IFSC Private, a leasing arm of JetSetGo Aviation, has become the first Indian leasing business to directly import an aircraft. The aircraft, a Hawker 800 XP, leased through GIFT City, IFSC was imported from the United Kingdom and towed into the MRO after landing at Nagpur airport.
